E317 Placed in Service at Station 2

August 2014

Queensbury Central has proudly placed a new Spartan Engine-Rescue Apparatus in service with the Warren County designation of Engine 317.

The New Engine 317 replaces both the older Engine 317 and Rescue 116,  (See photos moved to Apparatus Archives) and will be housed at Station 2.

The new piece of apparatus will respond to all calls as the first due apparatus out of that Station.  Our Brush unit 119 has also been moved to Station 2.

This new unit comes equipped with the "Ultimate Amkus Rescue" System, which provides our members the ability to run 6 Extrication Tools at the same time, thus reducing the amount of time it would take to successfully remove a victim from a vehicle.  There are 2 tools located in the front bumper and additional tools on the left, right and rear of this truck as well.

Some other features on this apparatus include:

  • 1000 Gallon Water Tank

  • On Board Speedy Dry Tank

  • Light Tower

  • Roll-Up Doors and pull out trays in each compartment.
